Mike has served for the past 16 years as head of the University of Michigan’s Washington DC office. There, he leads a team of four government relations professionals who advocate for the university’s agenda with the federal government. He also serves as head of Advocacy for the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) and chairs the Intellectual Property/ Tech Transfer Task Force for the Association of American Universities (AAU), where he has been extremely active on patents and related issues. Before coming to Michigan, Mike was Vice President of Government Relations for the National Association of Broadcasters and also worked on Capitol Hill for Rep. Harold Rogers (R-KY). He graduated with a BA in Journalism from Michigan.
